IS IT INTUITION OR FEAR?

I run my business and life very much by trusting my intuition.

However, there is a fine line between intuition (gut feeling, inner voice) and fear, and many people confuse the two. The key to telling the difference is to examine the feelings underneath what you’re experiencing.

Remember, the wisdom of how to deal with the fear of anything is in your body. Take a few deep, full breaths (at least three), and allow your mind to settle. Be present in your body. Then ask yourself the following question and pay careful attention to your instant, involuntary interior body reaction:

  • Do I really want to do this?

  • Do I feel expansive or contracted when I imagine saying yes to this?

  • Does saying yes make me feel delight or dread?

If you feel anxious, heavy and overwhelmed, it’s very likely fear, which needs to be metabolized and moved through; if you feel certainty and calm, then it’s very likely intuition.

Intuition is generated from your spirit, your heart—your authentic self.

Fear/Anxiety is generated from the ego, your personality, and past psychological wounds.

There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy. – Friedrich Nietzsche
